The ME3 multiplayer was so fucking good, it's the best wave coop game I've played and I hate that it never got the attention it deserved and EA making it hard to get into with how unlocks work even though sidestepping that was effortless
I still think about all the time I spent playing that, it's easily better than the majority of coop wave games, especially the ones around that time period
It's a shame nobody has tried to make another coop game designed like that but just evolve it, it did so much right in the core gameplay design
>Multiple factions that have their units actually play differently from each other
>Lots of playable characters, all with their own different kinds of builds. Classes and race also play a large factor in build design
>Great weapon variety
>Difficulties are well designed and there's good player expression with being able to get out of bad situations if you're good enough (depending on class ofc) so you can have clutch moments
>Powers are useful on their own but players are encouraged to naturally use them together with the combo effects
>Objectives that encourage moving around the map but handled much better than other coop games e.g. KF2
People actually started playing this again during the covid season and it was really fun but it was a bummer that things slowed down again.
I can only hope another dev does make some kind of spiritual successor game to it, I'd play it in a heartbeat and I'm honestly starved for some good coop.
