>[WWE] Iyo Sky’s incredibly busy month — why she still wanted to face Marigold’s Mayu Iwatani
>Iyo Sky, a WWE Superstar from the world’s largest pro wrestling promotion, has been powering through an exceptionally demanding schedule.
>She’s set to face her longtime ally Mayu Iwatani in a singles match at Marigold’s October 26 Ryogoku Kokugikan event—her first appearance with the promotion in a year and three months, since her bout with Utami Hayashishita in July of last year.
>Iyo appeared on *RAW* in Dallas, Texas, on the 6th (Japan time: 7th), then immediately flew to Australia, taking part in the *Kickoff Show* on the 10th, the *Crown Jewel* PLE on the 11th, and another *RAW* taping on the 13th. After that, she returned to Japan for the WWE Live shows at Ryogoku Kokugikan on the 17th and 18th, then flew back to the U.S.—only to return again for the Marigold Ryogoku event.
>“I left my home in Orlando at the start of October, and I won’t be back until the start of November,” Iyo said. “So that’s a full month away from home… At this point, it’s not even jet lag anymore—I just wake up in a hotel each morning like, ‘Wait, which country am I in today?’” she laughed, describing her hectic days.
>Even with that brutal schedule, Iyo decided to appear for Marigold because Mayu Iwatani is a special opponent for her.
>“Mayu Iwatani is one of those opponents who helps me raise my value as a wrestler. People like Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley in WWE do the same—every time I face them, they push me to update my perspective and grow. Mayu may not be in WWE, but every time we wrestle, we elevate each other,” she explained.
>The reunion match between the two former tag partners—their first in about seven years and five months—is attracting passionate attention from fans around the world.
