>means not trusting in Christ
No, it means not losing your Fleshly life,
not killing your old man.
If you don't crucify your Flesh (Gal 5:24),
you are not in Christ.
If you don't cut off your hands and feet
and tear out your eyes,
you will never enter the kingdom of God,
and you will be thrown into Hell (Mark 9:47).
And Christ isn't going to do it for you,
just like he isn't going to pick up your cross (Luke 9:23).
>you are misconstruing very difficult to understand scripture
You call the Parable of the Talents difficult to understand
because Tares don't want to understand it.
Wild waves of the sea (Jude 13)
have a Gospel of the Flesh,
and then will cling to that false Gospel
all the way to the outer darkness.
>which is not good news, but a message of doom
The message of doom for the Wicked
is a great news for the Righteous.
That the son of Man will send his angels
to send all causes of sin
and all workers of lawlessness
to the fiery furnace (Matt 13:41-42)
is the greatest news that can be imagined.
