I used to feel the same but then I clicked with the idea that it'd let whomever owns them see the moment they mentally resign themselves to their new existence as just a plant.

That said for my own fantasies I can go either way. It's hot to be able to watch people going about their lives and largely ignoring me because I'm just a plant and a fucktoy, but it's also hot to be cut off from the world visually and audibly, so I can only tell who's using me by taste touch and smell
