They are deliberately avoiding describing their dev strategy and attempting to obfuscate it by making it sound more nuanced than need be.
Based on those logs, they are just cherry-picking fragments of code from the original game into fresh supply, and probably doing minimal manual testing to check there is nothing obviously broken.
It would be preferable for them to write a proper test suite on the game state, based on expected values dumped from the original game, and write whatever shitty new code they want to pass that.
