Then you have a mob mentality where people see a low score without knowing why, watch it and gaslight themselves into thinking it's bad.

Once an anime finishes, MAL disregards the scores from anyone who watches less than 25% of it (3-4 episodes, in this case, unsure on how the rounding works), so expect something like this to happen again:
