Generally, when people say things like "Russians" or "Europeans" or "Chinese" in these kinds of contexts, they are talking about their governments and the populace that enables them. No sane individual wants to genocide the Chinese down to the very last man just because they cheat in video games and sell low quality products abroad.
When somebody complains about "Americans" it is our choice, nobody else's, whether or not to take that personally.

Neat. I live in a particular part of the US that has similarly hot summers(110F/44C). It's a small-ish town so it does cool off at night, could not imagine being able to stand going out at night and it STILL being hot. Winters are rain only but very windy here, we're alike in having never seen snow.
