I'm also fascinated by the Kibbutz. It seems to be the place where socialism has worked the best. No secret police, no gulags, no starvation, no authoritarian takeover of democracy. Seemed to function well enough within liberalism, without attacking or being attacked by it. I have a fantasy that there is a huge and successful Kibbutz revival, and it causes a lot of butthurt for Western anti-Zionist Socialists.
