listen to this guy (>>513015864).
what he's describing is the cooolidge effect. look it up:
>The Coolidge effect is a biological phenomenon seen in many animals (including humans) where males (and sometimes females) show renewed sexual interest when introduced to a novel partner...
some people try to use the coolidge effect to prove that we aren't meant to be monogamous but it's actually the opposite: we are meant to be monogamous. Being able to get a massive boost of dopamine after getting a new partner doesn't mean you should get a new partner every week. if you decide to do it, you end up blowing up your dopamine receptors similar to a cocaine addict. just because you can spike your doapmine levels doesn't mean you should. the spike in dopamine when meeting a partner is meant to help you bond with them. and the levels will taper off as oxctocin and other chemicals kick in. the coolidge mechanism makes more sense historically when accident rates & mortality were higher and widows were more common. people had to find a new husband/wife earlier in life. plus you weren't likely to meet many new women since traveling to far from your village was difficult with no cars or planes, unlike with porn and online dating today
