It's a lot more tolerable if you edit your stats to 999 so you can one-shot the generic RPG battles. I was playing the game normally and for some reason after a certain point the MC and both girls became completely useless. Zero damage. Also give yourself a lot of gold so you don't have to grind to pay those stupid quest acquisition fees
