Hey /o/, I was attempting to help my friend get his car started and I'm wondering if this terminal is the likely culprit. His car suddenly stopped starting the other day, and when he went to check his battery the positive post was corroded to hell. After cleaning it up, pic related is what it looked like. It's loose but the dome lights came on. Before attempting it earlier, I held the terminal to the post as tight as it could go with a pair of pliers while he turned the key. When we would try to start it, it made a single flubby click from under the battery tray (what would normally be under a battery tray?) and didn't start. Was I retarded to rule out the terminal in this case? Like is it so damaged that even using vice grips to bridge the connection wouldn't work? I checked all the related fuses and relays and they weren't damaged and clicked when the ignition was engaged.
