well yes that makes sense, it is very important for india to have a pristine reputation when it comes to flying in general: there has been a very big push for delhi to be the new air capital of the world (massive massive investment in new planes and infrastructure)
the last thing they want is for the accident to be a result of a murderous pilot. they'd much rather it be a problem on boeing (they are easy scapegoats right now)
