I definitely recommend it, one of the directors worked on gits and the second main protagonist is based on/inspired by Spike Spiegel from cowboy bebop

the antagonist of season one is amazing and has a lot of philosophical depth, he's a lot like Hideo Kuze from sac
just a lot more uhhhhh...fucked up
the show is pretty brutal at times but with a purpose and not just for shock factor.
