You all need to learn to be Better Men, Finn's ethos in his heroic story is akin to the tragedies of Greek Heroes. He has all material wealth and relationships, yet the piece in his life is gone (Jake), as Finn yearns to be with his brother. This is a clear reference to Hercules and Hylas, as Hercules was never the same after Hylas died, very much to how Finn was never the same after Jake's death.
