My dad although was present physically he wasn't mentally, never gave me advice, never talked to me like a person, never really cared what I was interested in, but then would get mad if I didn't have good grades. He would constantly joke that he didn't even know what grade I was in. I think when he got older he started to feel bad about it. He was very busy when I was a kid and was always on edge, I would always be worried he would snap at any time, kind of shitty energy to have around a kid but it is what it is.
