First came on the market in 1960
Designed to be a "everyman's airplane" !!
Simple, straightforward design !!
Easy to produce, fly, and maintain
Rugged and reliable
One of the designers was Fred Weick. He was already famous for designing the Ercoupe in the 30's (see picrel)
The Cherokee was manufactured in Vero Beach, FL.
It is still being made to this day !!!
