The problem is when you’re a qualified scientist and not a philosopher you directly damage your academic reputation every time you speculate on what something >might< be.
Real ones know this and won’t speculate or declare a truth until they have evidence to back that claim up and will simply present the facts as they accumulate.
If every scientist was also a speculative philosopher then every scientific achievement would be delayed by a backlog of scientists imagining what something could be, instead of finding out what something is.
If Avi spent less time trying to cash in on his speculative theories and more time researching the object he claims to be so passionate about, his resources would be better spent and we could get to the bottom of it without any impact to his reputation. If it did turn out to be true, then he would be accredited for it in a natural way. But he enjoys the notoriety of a fast tracked, hyped up media appearance where he speculates and speculates - and it shows.
I mean to be frank, this is a complete waste of everybody’s time until we know more. So why all of the threads?
Why the hype surrounding Loeb?
Why don’t we all just study it in the mean time instead of speculating so heavily - and wait and see.
