I can't help but look at much of the land in this country and think that capitalism destroyed it. So many places with grid roads, cookie cutter suburbs, McDonalds and Wall Mart signs illuminating the night sky where stars used to be. I can't help but think "this shit should have just been left to the natives"
Even if it is a losing position, they indifferently hold onto their traditional values with the land they have left. They managed their land for thousands of years without microplastics or other pollutants, and it wasn't until the white man came along with "progress" that the natural world began to suffer.
I'll take the good with the bad, I enjoy being white and many white inventions, at the same time I see how many natives stick to their traditional roots, even if it isnt much, then I look at our cultureless capitalistic dystopia, and am jealous of what the natives have.
