Well I can share two milestones with you, the first is the “witness-self” where you only identify with the feeling that of “you” between your eyes and like an inch back. All of experience feels like you are watching a movie from that feeling of you.

I consider this enough to be considered enlightenment. It’s a radical change in perception. Hindus call it turiya.

The second milestone is the one with Brahmin thing. The “one-with-everything” feeling. If you stay in the witness-self for long enough, eventually that feeling of you disappears and the whole world starts to feel like you. Everything feels extremely close like mountains in the distance are painted on your eyes. Everything is you and there is no you. Hindus call this turiya-tita.

This is real, and I am currently experiencing it.

Nothing changes, just how the mind sees itself. You could even reduce this entire enlightenment thing into a self-hypnosis trick. It just so happens to be a cure for suffering too.
