Its a connector problem, exacerbated on the 5090 cause that card is a greedy motherfucker but it can happen, and has happened, on the 5070TI and the 9070xt
I dont think i have seen any report of it happening on the 5060TI tho even using the same connector.
I personally wouldn't let that stop me from picking a 5070TI if it was my choice but i understand worrying.

Paying 400$ or 500$ extra (about a 50%) for a straight out linear 30%~ increase doesnt really appeal to many people. Had it just 20gb it would get so much more action even if the extra 4gb werent that big of a deal.
Its not a bad card is just a bad deal
