Today's bug of the day is the Curculionidae also known as the "true weevil"

Fun fact about them: they will often play dead when threatened, laying motionless on their backs.

A part of why they're such a pest to plant life is not only because they eat holes into plants, but will also oviposit into the plant itself which can cause further damage.

Scientists have recently begun to notice that their biological makeup is changing in tune with pesticides, they're not only becoming more resistant but modern pesticides are actually starting to help them thrive

make sure to tune in tomorrow for it's bug of the day!
