Trying to make bank on all the popular chapters makes sense. Although it's pretty apparent whoever's in charge just doesn't like Ultramarines in general.

Until the 10.0 update pic related was literally the only item available to every class with an ultramarines mesh strapped to it. This one shitty 2-minutes-of-work-involved helmet. It was even DLC and only available if you paid extra. Meanwhile all the other chapters get branded pauldrons and chest pieces and shit. But not the Ultramarines, even though the campaign is brimming with these items.

Since 10.0 you have the champion left leg as a second item (for tactical, assault and bulwark). And it's colored fucking green, you cannot change it because... there's no logical reason really.
