The only things esoteric and non sf like are roll cancelling and custom combos I guess, but despite those being op they are pretty intuitive to play around. You also don't have to learn them at all and just play gorilla K groove like I do. You will still run into vets who will rock your shit just like you would in any competitive game ever of course.
