I think the poor, and people in general still need religion though. Especially in extremely poor nations and absolute shitholes. Without some loose moral framework to bind the people and keep everyone somewhat on the same page and moving in the same direction you'd have absolute anarchy.

5-10 for example are the sort of thing I would hope most people would agree on irrespective of religious belief.
