I still don't understand how or in what way Aether and Flins are a thing specifically. Don't get me wrong, i dont judge, ship whoever you like. I get crackships too, its when two characters interacter in some capacity with eachither even if minor. But from what I've seen in the AQ they just did a mission together and thats it. By that logic anyone ever intercting with the traveler is a potential partner.
