>In the game's programming when you are pressing your dash "button" it is receiving a forward and hold forward input, 2 inputs, which is why it is referred to as a macro.
it's actually not. The game's programming actually has 3 different input methods for dash. there's the traditional 66 input that checks to make sure if you're holding forward. The dash macro, where you hold a single input in and the game doesn't check if you're holding forward, but it does check if you're holding any back input, or if the button is held or not. and the 6dash input, where you hold forward then press the dash macro.

unlike the 66 input letting go of forward when holding the dash macro doesn't stop your dash, and unlike a macro, pressing it alongside other buttons doesn't conflict with other actions (rc macro to fd when not at 50 meter) so it's more accurate to call it a dash button. i only know this because I tried messing with a character's dash input before, and the dash button wouldn't work unless specifically told to do so. but now you know.
