Honestly I have no clue. I think the original argument was it's "too stereotypical" so they had to turn it down/remove it (personally the original sounds pretty accurate to me).
It fucking sucks either way, especially if you care about animation history, archiving, etc.
They did the same thing with black face and either removed those scenes or refused to re-release the episodes altogether.
They even did the same for some scenes that were considered too violent.
