Travel is a form of conspicuous consumption and social competition for upwardly mobile women. They don’t actually enjoy it, they are enjoy taking and posting photos to social media that reinforce their social position and make other women jealous. Next time a woman tells you they love traveling ask them what they love about it. They will have no response. Ask them their favorite destination. They will say somewhere generic (Paris, London, Barcelona) or a place currently trending on social media (the Dolomites, etc.). Ask them what they like about it other than shopping and dining, they will have no answer.
