Nimi was the one who strung Saba along and was still making promises to her right up until Vshojo imploded. The LLD was just the public cover story so that everyone would just think "uhhh, musta been cuz of da sekrit boyfriend!" as if Dooby or Saba would suddenly drop her over something they already knew about. If Nimi didn't do it, people would get suspicious about why they dropped her at the exact moment Vshojo imploded and connected the dots sooner.
Why do you think Mint and Nimi are suddenly friends? They were both Vshojo spooks behind the scenes, so now Mint's basically the only one left that sympathizes with Nimi.
