Women's dual mating strategy is existentially humiliating for men. Every independent adult male who's expected to work hard and clear a bunch of credentials to be worthy of supporting his female counterpart knew she spent her youth sleeping around with dirtbags and drug dealers who never had to meet any of those standards.
