>>criticizes writers for putting too much effort into the narrative of their stories

I feel like that wasn't what I said at all. I personally like long form character driven stories when it comes to my smut. But if you look at the reception those chapters get next to fanfiction one shots that go straight to the point. It really doesn't make authors want to go all in on the writing. Which is a bad thing. I'd say the issue is that we don't have a central hub for authors to post and readers to choose categories. Deviantart is the closest thing, and that place is a cesspit. I'd love for people to actually be able to make a profit with novella length wedgie stories so more people get interested in churning them out. But I just don't see that happening.

My favorite wedgie story will always be lucky unlucky by anticherry93. And that's over a decade old and you can't even find all the chapters on deviantart, gotta go to lucky fetish for that (if it still exists). And I just checked the deviantart favorites and views, pretty lack luster.
But that's my own tastes issue not the communities.
