Another thing I realized when looking at the GB/C library by periods of time is that Nintendo basically set the standards/examples for everyone to follow

Exclusive games specifically designed for the Game Boy that were quite short. Super Mario Land sets the example, so you have games like Batman following that standard. There is also the focus on puzzle games after Tetris.

SML2 and Wario Land set a new standard, still exclusive games specifically designed for the GB but now they're more complicated, polished and longer. Third parties would do that too.

Nintendo mostly focuses on re-releases, rehashes and bad ports. But in colour!! There are a few exceptions of course like Wario Land 3 but long are the days of every of every franchise getting new games specifically made for the hardware like pic related, even Zelda on GBC got third party developed games that rehashed Link's Awakening.
And so, that's what other devs and publishers did too. Retards claim that the NES or the PSX are all "shovelware", it's what I see when I look at the GBC.
