Its just sadder if you've been watching NijiEN from when it was just Lazulight and Obsydia. Yes it's beating a dead horse but the atmosphere then felt perfect, the EN girls could collab with the ID and KR guys and nobody would really care because the atmosphere was so casual and low stakes. It felt more like a bunch of coworkers or a group of friends interacting with each other, no romantic tensions or whatever which is for the best compared to the mess that came later. Of course, it's also worth stressing that the environment was better because Anycolor was not a publicly traded corporation at that point in time.
It really did all fall apart with Ethyria, because that's when it felt like they really made horrific hiring mistakes in terms of the long term effects of the branch.
