Trump could have released the files, not pushed doctored footage, not threatened that the FBI would be charging people concerned about a Mossad blackmail operation with Antisemitism and hate crimes also deportation to el Salvadorian death camps too. He could have decided not to be a goon for another country, to not redefine America first as whatever he needs it to be, not import hundreds of thousands of H1Bs approving them for companies that are currently laying off thousands of people. He won and has done all these things in less than a year.
