I think starting with some online stuff and forced interactions via work or studies should work quite well as a start, perhaps you don't even need anything more afterwards, but holy shit the fear of rejection is legit crippling for me at least.

I have to agree with the ego boost part, but it's more a confidence booster to even shoot my shot in the first place. It does work wonders as an ice breaker too. It also would really help getting someone who i'm physcially compatible with I guess.
