Tremere have a "I'll steal everyone's magic and kill them and gaslight everyone into believing it's not my fault" thing going on for roughtly 1500 years+. They are one of the founder of the Camarilla. They only founded the Camarilla to have less people wanting to kill them for their sins, and to pretend, somewhat, that they're not well dressed kinslaying sociopaths. It sometimes works on neonates.
