No. You drop 300 wolves in the most remote area in northern Scandinavia. Half would probably die the first 2-3 years, the others would remain there if you can produce a lot of rabbits-deers-etc for them to eat in that area.

We already did it with the lynx. We created areas where we farmed lots of rabbits in a semi-wild state, and then let them be free to be hunted down by lynxes.
