Whether or not it was canon, the fact that SS doesn't tie in to DDLC at all is a let down for including it with a re-release but the added lore about simulations in a world outside our own that basically suggests Monika was prevented from having an epiphany in that timeline... I've said it before, it was half-baked, psuedo-intellectual nonsense. All to justify the console port.

That said I think it's still got value to at least experience once. There's literally no gameplay, you can just watch it online.
