That is because that is an almost exclusively Japanese saying, and has no presence in the western world beyond translations of Japanese media.

I assumed as such, one wouldn't be in an area such as this if they didn't either like anime or complain about others liking anime. Given how you're not complaining, I see it that you are the other kind.
Honestly, I had a greater attraction to some of the other idols in IM@S for a long time before I truly got into the series. I don't know what brought it along, but playing what little there was of the translation for Ritsuko's route in Idolm@ster SP (still mostly untranslated) and watching the anime, something about her intelligence and her honest reliability just sparked something in me, and suddenly I found her to be the most attractive, despite never finding any girl attractive in a similar way both in the real world and in anime.
