Former Russian military medic Alexei Zhilyaev, who deserted from the Central Military District and handed over a Russian Defense Ministry database containing data on 166,000 wounded soldiers to Radio Liberty journalists, was found in a French hospital.

Specialists estimate his condition to be serious. He has lost his memory and is unable to walk.
