i wonder why no game tries to copy what sims 3 did with animation interpolation. in 3 if you shorten or heighten a sim, they aren't the offset by that amount when you sit, unlike sims 4. every sim you make short in 4 will sink into the couch or chair.
sims 3 never even considered a height slider, but they did consider a low quality way of making animations smoother called animation interpolation. pic rel is plantsim set to +256 height, genie to -256. but look at their hands, they meet and there is no clipping. this works for like 90% of all animations with height differences in 3. every object they can interact with grabs right, they hold it right, they sit down without sinking though chairs like in 4.
most games don't attempt height differences at all or if there is one, its usually male vs female only, not a scale you can change. sims 3 managed to do something cool without even trying and i'm surprised no one tried to replicate this since.
