I think you should go ahead with your idea because it is unique and interesting and at the end of the day anyone not embracing new technology are going to be left behind by those who do.
People have a retarded obsessioon with AI but I really don't think you have too much to worry about in this specific instance. The main thing people dislike about AI is when it is used in a way that seems lazy. Things like "I can't draw so I use AI" or "I can't write so I will use AI to write good things for me" or "I don't know how to code so I will let the AI code for me".
However when it is used for immersion by creating endless amounts of small details that would have been a waste of resources or simply not feasible to spend that much time on as a small producer, I think it is a good thing. Like when people used AI to make automatically generated art for each individual leaf on trees in their game, that is something that would have been a massive waste of time to spend effort making thousands of custom drawings for but that can add immersion. Same with the mod someone made for GTA Online that made civilians have automatically generated voice responses to your voice chat, clearly that would not be feasible with actual voice acting and it will not always be high quality but it's a small fun detail that uses AI to add a lot of immersion to the background.
I think your idea of using AI to make small unimportant but amusing automatically regenerated fake social media messages in your game sounds like a perfect implementation of AI and I think you should go ahead with your idea.
