I make money in either bull and bear markets, it's the current crab shit I can't stand. I sell close to the top, stake mis stables (Binance flexible earning is at 10% up to 100k USDC) and wait for a correction to buy back. What about gold/silver supposing you go full graverobber mode and dig some gold rings or any kind of jewelry? I suppose it counts but only if you directly exchange it for goods (you don't get to sell the gold ring for MONEY and then buy stuff)
