By definition, Shogay Ohranny is the most overrated fraud in the history of sports.
The unanimous, uncontested kind of praise Shogay gets:
-He's the GOAT of baseball
-He's the greatest athlete of all time (Buster Olney ESPN)
-He's super human and the best ever
By NO METRIC is this even close to true in any sense. The reality:
-1 (ONE) ring on a stacked mega team with the highest payroll
-Career .240 hitter in the playoffs, .211 in the world series, a strikeout machine, a non-clutch fraud
-0 clutch moments/walkoffs to speak of
Compare this with some modern era contemporaries:
-Jeter: .308 playoff average, 5 rings
-David Ortiz (also a DH): .289 playoff average, 3 rings
-Pujols: .319 playoff average, 2 rings
-Pete Rose: .321 playoff avg, 3 rings
-Babe Ruth: .326 playoff avg, 7 rings
-Shogay Ohtranni: .211 WS avg, 1 ring
>b-b-but he ptiches and hits!
Career average pitcher at best. Almost never pitches and hits well in the same game. The one game against Brewers was an all time anomaly up 3-0 in a 0 pressure situation against trash pitchers/cold hitters. A unicorn performance that will never be duplicated. The narrative that he is an all time hitter and pitcher, that he can do both well at the same time, is 100% false. He can't do EITHER very well at once
