>Bandai kits can be filled with sprues because-
Bandai kits were already riddled with sprues long before they merged with Namco and became a multimedia empire. Pic related is the contents of a kit from 2001 that includes
>29 runners that creates a 32cm tall robot when you're done
>Separate metal parts for the waist and legs
>Screws to ensure sturdy assembly
>LED lights in the head and torso
All for the low price of 15000 yen, which is technically a little bit over $100 going by exchange rate but due to all the tariff stuff and the size of the model's box it usually goes for $160-180.
I mean fuck, they're still printing models that released in the 80s and selling them for the exact same yen prices they were over 40 years ago while GW's made-to-order stuff is always charging modern model prices for 30+ year old metal molds. Just look at them charging $40 for the old-ass metal Eldrad Ulthran mini from all the way back in 2nd edition while they're charging $37 for the current model for example.
It's got nothing to do with the Namco side of things, it's solely that they've perfected the art of injection molding decades ago while other manufacturers can barely keep up in both production quality and quantity.
