>The reality is that the EU is moving towards an authoritarian communist state at a record-breaking pace.
>While the rest of the world is moving forward, the EU is focused on censorship, surveillance, collecting more taxes and importing millions or barbarians from the 3rd World into our countries.
The good news is that such a system will not last forever, the system is buckling as it is which is why they're ramping up the censorship and becoming increasingly authoritarian despite (or because of) the neo-liberal facade. The bad news is they can still do a lot of damage and little guys like us get caught in the crossfire of incredibly shit policies until the whole thing crumbles like Soviet Union did. There's the possibility that a catastrophic loss in Ukraine deals a death blow to EU legitimacy and it dies off in a couple of years or it changes it's structure fundamentally; if you look at politics at a national level people are getting increasingly agitated and gravitating towards the "far-right". While the UK is not at least technically in the EU anymore they have the same problems as we do and the people seem to be getting quickly tired of the status quo.
