The way you save WoW's lore:

>delete all expacs after cataclysm
>don't kill off good, conflicted characters like garrosh, sylvans, etc
>add bad character traits to golden goody two shoe self inserts like Thrall, Anduin, etc. make thrall for example controlling, conniving, have his human-adjacent upbringing somehow clash with traditionalist orc values and let there be some credit to their accusation that he is a bit un-orcish, and dishonourable. e.g, he did do shit like actually break the rules of mak'gora (yes I know this is a meme)
>don't inject modern contemporary moral issues or conceptions into what is effectively a medieval and also primitive setting
>do not fixate on a grand overarching enemy like the burning legion over and over again, it loses its threat level
>be like classic where there are lots of different threats and factions
>emphasize faction conflict. garrosh and cata had this going well for the setting until blizzard decided to make him a mostly ebil 2d caricature based on MUH HITLER
>don't have brutality and viciousness from Alliance and Horde actors/sub-factions be some kind of absolute anathema that automatically makes them expendable in the narrative. or have it be a symptom of their possession by aforementioned insane EBIL power
>e.g, in the barrens quest line in cata where alliance soldiers burn camp taurajo and slaughter innocents. let the dark realities of war be included without becoming a melodrama
>never do cringeworthy quantum physic trash justifications for lore, e.g, warlords of draenor
>make the modern WoW in game engine more like the updated WC3 art style which is grittier and less Disney/cutesy reddit slop crap. it will compliment the lore and feel of the game
