Imagine being completely new to the franchise, willing to check out the game because it did waifufaggotry before and has amazing character models when compared to the competition. Suddenly you hear bad actors repeat "there's NTR there" "they betray their playerbase" etc. wouldn't you be turned off as well? That's CN at the time, complete newcomers are turned off, and the only one who stayed are mostly those who had a good idea of what went on in the first game. If things were normal, CN would be making the most money compared to everywhere else.
