You probably don't need it since chinese is hard and people would understand you better in english rather than in basic chinese. I'm mostly saying it so you have a reason to go outside more haha. Idk how pricing works for you, but you can always look at courses, see if there is one that fits your schedule/budget and if things get too hard with the thesis you can always just drop out, since the thesis is what is important. From my experience, language courses tend to be like 3 hours/week, and offer a bunch of different times, so they can be pretty flexible. You just have to take into account when do the courses start!
