It happens in cycles. And even though circular motion is inherently accelerated, time only goes forward. Thus, there is no left/right, there is just forward, around the circle. Anyone that supports the status quo is right and anyone that supports the reformation is left. The first monarchy, based on a divine right, wherein the Royal served as bridge between the realms, was a left wing innovation from the point of view of a state of nature. Yet today a state of nature, i.e. anarchy, is associated with the left. That's called "full circle", aka a "revolution". Speaking of which, the US is now an empire.
